Muhammad Ali Merati

Muhammad Ali Merati est compositeur, multi-instrumentaliste, ingénieur du son et membre de SACEM. Doctorant et membre du CREM-CNRS, Centre de Recherche en Ethnomusicologie à Paris, Muhammad Ali est ethnomusicologue, spécialiste de musique traditionnelle persane et kurde.

Il a été initié aux instruments (kamânche, tanbur, daf, setar) et à la musique persane et soufi par de grands maîtres iraniens. Son instrument principal est le kamânche (vièle à pique) qu’il pratique depuis une vingtaine d’années.

 

Muhammad Ali Merati is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, sound engineer and member of SACEM. Phd student and member of CREM-CNRS, Research centre in ethnomusicology in Paris, Muhammad Ali is an ethnomusicologist specialised in traditional Persian and Kurdish music.

He was imitated in the Persian instruments (kamânche, tanbur, daf, setar) and music by great Persian masters. His main instrument is the kamânche that he has played for more than 20 years.
